Free Leadership Webinar for First-Time Managers and HR Professionals

A free webinar designed to offer guidance to first time managers, team leaders and those newly promoted to supervisory roles, alongside HR professionals and operations directors looking to up-skill their team has been announced.


The insightful live webinar, which will feature some of the country’s top leaders who will be able to share valuable insights and strategies into effective leadership development.


Called ‘Navigating Leadership: From First Time Manager to Confident Leader’ the event is designed to give guidance to companies and people looking to help new and aspiring leaders take their skills to new heights.


The webinar, which starts at noon, will be chaired by Darren Jones, who has three decades of experience having chaired private companies and public sector organisations, including 15 years with NHS bodies. Darren will be helping search for answers as to why leadership development is important, what prevents development and how practical tools and training is key.

The panellists include:

  • Jeremy Butler – Director of Transformation at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, passionate about improving healthcare services quality and efficiency through strategy, change management, and performance coaching.

 

  • Helen Watson – Director Services Operations Academy at Alstom, passionate about leadership development and people. Helen will share her experience of working with fortune 500 companies to develop and implement their people strategies, allowing people to become great managers and some exceptional leaders.

 

  • Steve Boam – CEO of Develop Consulting, with over 20 years of consultancy experience starting at Toyota in the UK and Japan as an Engineer gaining deep understanding of the Toyota Production System, before supporting hundreds of organisations to become more effective and efficient through their people and processes.

 

  • Dan Briscoe – MD and Lead Trainer at click2 learn, with extensive experience delivering lean improvement projects across sectors.


The discussion will explore critical topics such as whether UK organisations have properly invested in leadership development, strategies for supporting leaders, overcoming barriers to traditional training, meeting needs of next generation leaders, and the importance of developing future leaders.


The webinar coincides with click2learn’s launch of its new Lean Leadership programme, bridging the gap for the “accidental manager” who has stepped into a leadership role without formal training.
